Lagos – Public Relations Officer,PRO, of Lagos State University Student Union,LASUSU, Mr. Olateju Azeez, yesterday, denied reports that he urged fresh students to pay the new fee regime proposed by the Lagos State Government. Azeez said: “ I have been at the forefront of this three-month struggle against the outrageous and unjustifiable fee hike proposed by authorities of the state; I was last week arrested alongside other union leaders and some students for this same cause,” and “there was no way I could have advised new students to pay the tuition fees ranging between N193, 750 and N348 ,750 .” Azeez clarified that he had only advised old students to pay their fees ranging between N25,000 and N33,250 , to meet the December 30 deadline given by the management.
